In the North Sea, 18 kilometres west of the Norwegian coast, lies the small island Utsira.
With 214 inhabitants this is Norways smallest municipality. People born and raised here are called Sirabu, and the Sirabus themselves just call the island Sira.
If Norwegians love talking about the weather, the Sirabus really have to.
Utsira often has sudden, windy weather, sometimes gale-force gusts.
The ferry stops. Sometimes a house fall.
You can walk from the north quay to the south in 25 minutes, or drive it in two.
Still, you can walk on the island for an hour without meeting a single person.
You may stop and listen, and the silence is so deep that you only hear yourself breathing.
But there are people on Sira. You just need to know where, and when, to look.
